A look back at ENSEA’s Open Day 2024: Immersion at the heart of statistical excellence<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

On Saturday, December 14, 2024, the \u00c9cole Nationale Sup\u00e9rieure de Statistique et d’\u00c9conomie Appliqu\u00e9e (ENSEA) welcomed a varied audience of students, parents and career guidance professionals to its traditional Open Day. The event offered a unique opportunity to discover the academic excellence and professional opportunities embodied by ENSEA, Center of Excellence in Statistical Training and Economic Modeling. <\/p>\n\n

Exceptional mobilization<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The 2024 Open Day attracted a wide range of participants, including pupils and students curious to explore careers in statistics, accompanied by their parents and educational supervisors. Students currently enrolled at ENSEA were on hand to run stands dedicated to student clubs and associations, giving visitors an insight into the richness of academic and extracurricular life. In addition, a number of ENSEA graduates (alumni) honored and enriched the day with their presence, testifying to their attachment to their formative school. <\/p>\n\n

The JPO was marked by several highlights.<\/p>\n\n

Inaugural speech by Madame BOMISSO, Representative of the ENSEA Director<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The morning began with a word of welcome from Ms. BOMISSO Rosine, Director of Studies at ENSEA, representing the Director who was unable to attend due to a mission he was on. Ms. BOMISSO recalled the importance of ENSEA as a Center of Excellence in Statistical Training and Economic Modeling, as well as the school’s commitment to training generations of statisticians capable of meeting the continent’s challenges. She expressed her pride that ENSEA continues to attract talent and play a key role in promoting the statistical and data science professions on the African continent. <\/p>\n\n

An exciting <\/strong>on the future of statistics and AI (Artificial I<\/strong>ntelligence) in Africa<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

One of the highlights of the event was the panel moderated by two distinguished alumni: Mr. ASSI Maixent G\u00e9m\u00e9ri<\/strong> (ISE 2011, Digital Manager at Endeavour Mining Office) and Ms. Titchinmin KONE \u00e9pouse SISSOKO<\/strong> (ISE 2015, Senior Manager in Insights and Sustainable Development at Forvis Mazars West and Central Africa).<\/p>\n\n

Under the theme ” Statistics and Artificial Intelligence: what prospects for Africa’s development<\/strong>?”,<\/em> these experts demonstrated how these two disciplines can work together to meet the continent’s current challenges. The panel also served as a source of inspiration for the younger generation, encouraging them to join the ENSEA’s courses of excellence, namely the Statistical Analysts (AS) course for the Bachelor’s cycle and the Statistical Engineers and Economists (ISE) course for the Engineer cycle. <\/p>\n\n

This Open Day also marks an important turning point: The official launch of the ENSEA entrance examinations for the 2025 session<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Registrations are now open for the Statistical Analyst (AS)<\/strong> and Economic Statistical Engineer (ISE<\/strong>) programs.<\/p>\n\n

In addition to the panel, five (5) other graduates shared their varied and successful career paths, reinforcing the pride and motivation of the young people present. They are :<\/p>\n\n

    • Maryse AKOUMIAN<\/strong> (AS 2023, CONGINTA Evaluation and Learning Officer).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n

      Their testimonials illustrated the impact of the training received at ENSEA, highlighting success stories in various sectors such as finance, sustainable development and international organizations. These exchanges gave participants a glimpse of the many opportunities offered by quality statistical training, while motivating them to follow in the footsteps of these accomplished professionals. <\/p>\n\n

      As a token of appreciation for their commitment and availability, the alumni who took part received certificates of recognition, testifying to ENSEA’s gratitude for their contribution to the success of the event.<\/p>\n\n

      A convivial conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

      After the enriching exchanges, the day ended in a convivial atmosphere with family photos, a visit to the student-led stands and a final cocktail.<\/p>\n\n

      ENSEA, a springboard to the future<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

      While highlighting the richness of its academic offering, the exemplarity of its graduates and the importance of its disciplines for the continent’s development, ENSEA reaffirms its position as a leader in statistics and economic modeling training.<\/p>\n\n
