Presentation
The DATA SCIENCE Master’s program is a joint program launched by three (03) academic institutions: ENSEA, INP-HB and X Polytechnique, with the support of the ORANGE group, Société Générale CI and the SANLAM group.
The aim of this Master’s program is to train experts in the fields of information processing, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data. It will enable them to acquire engineering skills based on new developments in the storage and processing of massive data.
At the end of the course, students in the Master Data Science program will have the skills they need to enter the following professions, among others:* Data Administrator * Big Data Engineer * Data Mining Consultant * Data Analyst * Data Scientist, * Cyber Security.

As part of the latest Contract of Objectives and Performance signed with the French State, which is in line with the construction of the Université Paris-Saclay, École polytechnique (l’X) contributes its original multidisciplinary model combining science and engineering, thanks to strong integration between its training cycles and its research center. The multi-year contracts signed with the French government also emphasize the need for closer ties with the business world, the implementation of a partnership policy and the resulting increase in the École’s own resources. The creation of Corporate Chairs is a direct response to these objectives.
It is against this backdrop that Orange SA has decided to support the Fondation de l’École Polytechnique, and Orange Côte d’Ivoire, the Institut National Polytechnique Félix Houphouët-Boigny (INP-HB) and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Statistique et d’Economie Appliquée (ENSEA) in the creation of a chair entitled “Data Science Institute” by the Academic Partners.
The parties involved wish to make a joint contribution to the development of Data Science training. The work of the Chair will focus on setting up national and international training programs, with the following threefold objective:
- Develop, through a master’s degree program, a profile of engineers open to the specificities of data science professions, a profile for which there is growing national and international interest.
- Suggest the development of continuing education programs for working professionals, to help them understand the challenges and practical difficulties of data science.
- Encourage innovative and original research in data science.
The “Data Science Institute” project aims to accelerate the development of data management skills in Côte d’Ivoire and West Africa, in line with the desire expressed by economic and political players to localize both training and added value.
Hosted by two Ivorian institutions, the project aims to set up an international-level course of excellence in data science, initially for students, then for corporate executives.
Context
Recruitment
Training period: 2 years
Candidates are recruited at BAC + 3 level with a mathematical, statistical or IT profile. The training period is two (02) years.
- Statistical profile: Statistics, Data Mining, Mathematics, Bio-Statistics, Epidemiology, Econometrics, Quantitative Finance, Actuarial Science or any related discipline.
- Computer Science profile: Computer Science, Telecommunications, Industrial Sciences, Operations Research, Geodesy or any related discipline.
The first year will take place at INP-HB in Yamoussoukro. Students will be housed on the school’s campus. The second year will take place in Abidjan, and will include a 4-6 month internship.
