The École Nationale Supérieure de Statistique et d’Économie Appliquée (ENSEA) d’Abidjan, Centre d’Excellence, in collaboration with the Abdul Latif Jameel Laboratory for Action against Poverty (J-PAL), awarded certificates to the second cohort of the Certificate in Public Policy Evaluation, this Friday, January 17, 2025 in ENSEA’s François YATTIEN-AMIGUET amphitheater.
Under the patronage and in the presence of Madame Nialé KABA, Minister of the Economy, Planning and Development, the ceremony brought together Ivorian civil servants and eminent personalities such as Madame Pascaline DUPAS (Professor of Economics at Princeton University, USA, and Scientific Director of J-PAL Africa), Mr Cylian NOLAN (Director of J-PAL Europe), Mrs Virginie LUCAS (Head of the Education-Training-Employment Unit at the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) office in Abidjan), and Mr Hugues KOUADIO, Managing Director of ENSEA.
The aim of the Certificate in Public Policy Impact Assessment is to train participants in the fundamental principles of impact assessment and to promote an evidence-based approach to the design and implementation of development policies. This initiative is supported by the Côte d’Ivoire government, in partnership with J-PAL and AFD.
A total of 28 new experts, representing the2nd class of this program, received their scrolls after nine months of intense training and hard work.
The ceremony also marked the launch of the3rd promotion, symbolizing the sustainability of this innovative program. ENSEA and J-PAL thus reaffirm their strategic role in capacity building for development in Côte d’Ivoire.
